1. Wayang

Wayang diakui oleh UNESCO sebagai warisan budaya bangsa Indonesia pada tahun 2003. Wayang sebagai “Karya Agung Budaya Dunia” yang diakui oleh UNESCO bukan hanya wayang Jawa tapi wayang Indonesia, termasuk wayang Bali, wayang golek Sunda, wayang Lombok, dll. Cerita-cerita yang dimainkan berkisah tentang dewa-dewi, persilatan, percintaan dan kepahlawanan yang pertunjukkannya selalu diiringi dengan musik gamelan. Sang dalang dalam pertunjukan wayang sangat pandai membawa suasana emosi penonton mulai dari serunya peperangan sampai cerita lucu yang dibawakan sang dalang sampai membuat penonton tertawa. Tahun 1950-1960an adalah puncak kejayaan wayang yang diakui para peneliti Barat, sebagai seni pertunjukan terindah di dunia.
